World Records Continue to Fall
Tuesday Apr 12th 2011
Just as the ink was drying on new overall world records for the 3-3-3 and Timed 3-6-3 Relay set on March 12, it took just a week for faster times to be entered in the record book. And just a week later, a new mark was set for the 3-6-3 that broke the 2 second mark.
Across the Atlantic in Pohl Greens, Germany, the relay team SST Butzbach hit 15.40 seconds in the Timed 3-6-3 Relay. This new overall world record was set at the WSSA German National Sport Stacking Championships on March 20. Hats off to Timo Reuhl, Jonathan Kettler, Samuel Kettler and Ryan Powell who bested the previous record of 17.90 seconds.
The 3-6-3 is the most recent record to fall. On March 26, Zhewei Wu from Philadelphia broke the 2-second barrier with an unprecedented 1.96 seconds. The 15-year-old member of Team USA broke the previous record of 2.08 seconds held by Kennard Gardner.
Stay tuned... more records are sure to be set at the 2011 World Sport Stacking Championships on April 16 & 17 in Dallas, Texas
