Dallas, Texas to host premier sport stacking event April 16 & 17
The Special Events Center in Garland, Texas (a northeast suburb of Dallas) will be the site for the 2011 WSSA World Sport Stacking Championships and USA/Texas Open presented by Wonderful® Pistachios.
The combined event will showcase the world's fastest stackers as they vie for record times and titles. It will also provide stackers of all ages and abilities throughout Texas and across the country the opportunity to participate in this, "The Super Bowl of Sport Stacking!" A centerpiece of the weekend's festivities is the ever-popular STACK FEST, a series of interactive "stacking stations" for the entire family. Dates for the marquee event will be Saturday and Sunday, April 16 & 17.
This is the first time the World Sport Stacking Championships will leave Colorado, headquarters of the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA), since its inception in 2001. The move to Texas reflects the significant growth of sport stacking, which has been extremely popular in the Lone Star state for the last decade.
"We're thrilled for Dallas to host our pinnacle event," said Bob Fox, WSSA Founder & Executive Director. "The Special Events Center is a perfect venue to spotlight the world's elite stackers, as well as provide an exciting stacking experience for teams of all ages and abilities from across the USA and Texas."
Information on host hotels, eligibility, registration and more will be provided in the coming weeks. In the meantime set your sights (and stacks) on Dallas in April!
