Do I have to arrive on Friday?
We plan a full weekend to make your trip worthwhile. Many stackers don't compete on Friday (see schedule) but there are other events such as practice with your team, athlete check in and opening ceremonies. If you want to get the most out of the weekend, arriving on Friday is ideal. If you know you can't arrive on Friday by the time athlete check in closes, then you should arrange to have one of the other members of your relay team check you in.
Doubles and Relays weren't part of my qualifying event. Can I still compete in those events at Junior Olympics?
Definitely! When you register for the AAU Junior Olympic Games Sport Stacking Championships, you can compete in all the events. It is highly recommended to request a relay team even if you are not attending with a group from your area. You will be place on a team with other stackers of a similar age and ability. Even if you've never done doubles, you can learn how to do this event at home. You'll be placed with a partner and have plenty of time to practice when you arrive.
What time will the competition end?
Most stackers will be done by 3:00 on Sunday but some will be done earlier. Everyone has at least one event every day, if you're on a relay team, so make sure you come to the Coliseum Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Our final event, the Stack of Champions, will be the last event. This is a chance to see the fastest stackers of the competition on stage trying to beat their times. Final awards for the overall winners are given at the Stack of Champions. So, we recommend staying until the end of that event!
We received a letter of invitation but I can't find my child's name to register him/her. Can you help?
You have to look for their name under the name of the competition they went to. Click on Registration/Qualifiers and then click on the name of a tournament they attended. You should then see their name listed. If you can't find your registration link using those directions, please email lisaberman@thewssa.com for additional help.
