What's there to see in Switzerland?
If you’re staying a bit longer after Worlds, don’t miss the "Sächsilüte" in Zurich on Monday, April 28th. This traditional spring festival dates back to the 16th century and celebrates the end of winter and the arrival of warmer days. Highlights of the "Sächsilüte" include:
- The Böögg – A large snowman figure is set on fire in the city center (Sechseläutenplatz). According to tradition, the faster the Böögg’s head (filled with fireworks) explodes, the better the upcoming summer will be!
- The Guild Parade – Zurich’s historic guilds (Zünfte) march through the city in colorful traditional costumes, accompanied by horses, music, and flags. It’s a lively and uniquely Swiss spectacle!
For everything else Switzerland has to offer – from scenic train rides to mountain hikes and cultural tips – check out My Switzerland, the official tourism website. It’s full of inspiration and practical advice for planning your trip!
