USA Sport Stacking is excited to offer this new team-based competition format during Junior Olympics! All teams are eligible for entry into this special event which is determined after all Timed 3-6-3 Relay Prelims are completed. Please look for the list of teams in your division on the screens and on the results board during the lunch break on Saturday to know if you have qualified for this event.
Stackers who are not on relay teams or do not qualify for this event will participate in the Individual HTH for their age division during the same time the first two matches for Stacking League are going on. Stacking League participants will not compete in the Individual HTH as its own event.
The top relay teams in each of the following divisions based on prelim times will participate in Stacking League:
12U - Top 6
18U - Top 8
19+ - Top 8
The Junior Olympics Stacking League will have 3 matches. In this modified round robin format, each team will only compete against 3 other teams in their division and not every team. The match ups for each division will be posted on results board.
The top 3 teams in each division in terms of points earned after their 3 matches will win medals (gold, silver and bronze).
The top two teams in EACH of the three divisions in terms of points earned during the 3 matches will have a Stacking League Showdown at Stack of Champions to see who can earn the most points and be the overall Junior Olympics Stacking League Champion trophies. The second place team will also receive trophies. A tie in points will be determined by a single HTH Cycle Relay.
In the event of a tie between the second and third place teams at the end of regular matches, a single HTH Cycle Relay will be run to determine who advances. In the unlikely event that all 3 first place teams have the exact same number of points, each team will race each other team one time in a Cycle HTH Relay with the winner of each race earning one point with any remaining ties being broken by a single Cycle HTH race. Teams with the most points after this tiebreaker round will advance to Stack of Champions.
Match play consists of 5 events. Please go to usasportstacking.com/leagues/match-play/ to see "how to" videos for each Stacking League Match event.
